This photo map was The Virginian-Pilot’s first Django news application. With the ability to filter the images by decade, users can take a tour of Hampton Roads from the beginning of the twentieth century through the present decade. The Pilot’s librarians upload new photographs through the Django admin. This project, designed to be used both on a tablet and a desktop, established the foundation of future Django applications at The Pilot.
