I took a comprehensive look at six years of overtime earnings among police and fire department employees in South Hampton Roads. The findings revealed a small number of high ranking individuals raking in thousands of dollars in a system with few restrictions, leading to questions of fatigue and fairness. The investigation spanned ten different departments involving thousands of employees and tens of thousands of data points.
